The DRM Chat Continues
The non-DRM MP3 distribution chat continues as EMI is still considering ditching DRM technology. But, they are requesting advance pay that no one is willing to agree on. It seems that only the honest people are the ones that get punished DRM or non-DRM.

Lovedrug on Downloading
Lovedrug has posted a statement on their myspace about downloading
"If all of you out there in Download-ville WANT me to break up the band, then by all means illegally burn copies of our record and download them to your heart's content. If you DON'T want me to break up the band then PLEASE, have a heart and buy it. Tell your friends to buy it. Have your dog buy it. Have your dog's kids buy it. Every time someone out there burns a copy of our record (even if you are spreading the good word, which we appreciate) you should definitely keep in mind that you are not "screwing a record label", you are not "sticking it to the man", you are not "beating the system", what you are doing is slowly but surely putting me and my bandmates out of a job... and when that happens... we won't be able to make records anymore because we won't be able to afford to. This might sound like elitist artist bullshit.. but I assure you it is not. You can't possibly fathom just how close to starving WE really are. Thank you for your cooperation."

Saves the Day Update
Chris Conley of Saves the day has posted this update:
"So, y'all been asking bout our new jams over at our new website web.mac.com/savesthedaymusic. We've been hard at work having fun. Finished 13 demos for an upcoming album called "Under The Boards" which will hopefully hit the streets later this year. And we're currently working on other new stuff I can't tell you about yet. But we've got some things in the making. To tell you what it sounds like would be difficult. I can say that it is different. I can say we're having fun making it. I'd call it Boogie From Beyond. Far-Out-Fun. Deranged Lunaspectacular Funk. We'll play loads on tour with Say Anything if you want to hear. But don't worry, we're gonna rock y'all with the old fury first and foremost. If you want to hear new jams, you just ask, we'll bust em out. Werd."

Review - Fall Out Boy
3 out of 5
Artist: Fall Out Boy | Album Title: Infinity on High | Release Date: February 6, 2007 | Label: Island Records | Reviewed By: Sean Salomon
A couple years ago I doubt that anybody realized what Fall Out Boy would become. Many of us may still remember the band as the opening act at hardcore shows: out of place but still commanding respect. Their interject style of playing has today made them an every day name in the music world. The question now is, will the legacy continue with the release of Infinity on High?
The album as a whole is a standard Fall Out Boy release. If you weren't a fan of the band's older work, you can take an immediate pass on this one. As with any Fall Out Boy release, you're going to get basic pop/punk with really catchy melodies and choruses but fairly simple music backing it up.
The first taste that most people got of Infinity on High was probably the hit single "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race". I really wasn't pleased with the whole first minute of the song but after that it starts to pick up. The chorus is pretty catchy but it's still one of my least favorite songs on the album. I'm sure that there are people that hate this song simply because it uses the word "scene", but that is neither here nor there.
My criticism of this album is that some of the more experimental things didn't catch, and the guitar work isn't the best. The album is questionably not as catchy as their previous work. The guitar parts could have been a little more creative and there were too many short quarter notes in my opinion. Other than that the album is enjoyable to listen to, good for background music, driving or getting ready for a night out on the town. The highlight of Infinity on High is definitely the vocals.
Fall Out Boy will carryon gaining popularity with Infinity on High. There's no reason to stop liking them because of their popularity. If you're a fan of the band's older work then their newest release shouldn't be an exception, but if you're a first time listener I would definitely recommend checking out their previous albums first.
My personal favorite tracks are "Hum Hallelujah", "Thanks for The Memories" and "The Carpal Tunnel of Love".
